Hey, I’m Ned Heller (a.k.a. sp00nz) - Systems Engineer in the Bay Area with 15+ years of experience building systems that actually work.

By day I architect cloud infrastructure and wrangle Kubernetes clusters. By night I static recompile console games - turning original Xbox, N64, PS3, SNES, Dreamcast, and Xbox 360 binaries into native PC executables. Burnout 3, Diddy Kong Racing, Black & White, flOw, GTA - if it shipped on a dead platform, I’m probably taking it apart. I build the recompilation toolkits too: ps3recomp, xboxrecomp, snesrecomp, and gcrecomp cover most of the major architectures.

On the infrastructure side I build VM migration tools, multi-cloud deployment platforms, and connection managers. Arctic Code Vault Contributor. Open source advocate. Believer in documentation and clean commits.

When not debugging or building systems, I’m hiking Bay Area trails or perfecting cookie recipes (heller.recipes). A few other things I’ve built: ConnecTTY, a free, open-source terminal that unifies SSH, RDP, SFTP, and serial connections with cloud auto-discovery and bulk operations; wemust.help, a platform connecting people with local volunteer opportunities; and whocareswhereittakes.us, which plays a random video from the Internet Archive and lets you see where it takes you.

Stack: C, C++, Go, Python, TypeScript, Linux, Docker, Kubernetes
